Considering how they played last year, the Lebanon men's soccer team is in the midst of a disappointing season.

The Warriors fell to 0-5 in the Mid-Willamette Conference last week, losing 4-1 at home against Woodburn on Oct. 23.

Jeremy Gaetjens redirected a shot from Yovani Alvarez for Lebanon's lone goal, which came in the first half.

The goal brought Lebanon to within 2-1, but Woodburn scored again in the first half and added three more in the second half to put the game away.

"I thought for the most part we played hard for the entire game, we just never quite finished," coach Dave Albion said.

Players on both sides were chippy with one another, Albion said.

"I thought they played really dirty," he said of Woodburn.

Lebanon was issued three yellow cards and couldn't seem to get a call from the officials, Albion said.

After making the playoffs for the first time in school history last season, the 2009 Lebanon Warriors are winless in conference play this year.

"We've got one more week together," Albion said. "It's been tough, but we've got three or four seniors that we owe it to to go out and play hard."

Lebanon played at Silverton on Tuesday and finish off the season Friday at home against Dallas.

Seniors will be recognized at halftime of the game on Friday.

"I believe that we're a better group than what we've shown," Albion said. "We need to prove to ourselves that we're a good team."
