The Lebanon High School women's soccer team wasn't happy after getting shut out by Willamette, losing three goals to zero. They took out their frustration on Marshfield Saturday, defeating the Pirates 6-2.
"I was a little nervous because of the way they did play at Willamette," said head coach Rusty Gorham. He needn't have worried.
"It was a completely different team," he said. "They played together tactically, they made the plays, they played as a team."
Marshfield scored first. Gorham said that normally that might get his team down, but not this time.
"They just stepped it up and took it kinda personal and went after them," he said.
Rose Ragsdale scored three goals for Lebanon. Kim Duerr, Sierra Engler and Susan Evans added the rest.
Good passing, communication and intensity were key in the win, Gorham said.
"They really played with a purpose this weekend."
The team hosts Jefferson of Portland on Thursday. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
