West Albany and Woodburn kept the Lebanon women's soccer team winless in the Mid-Willamette Conference last week.

The Warriors opened the week with a 5-0 loss at West Albany on Oct. 20.

The game was closer than the score indicates, though.

Lebanon played well in the first half and trailed 1-0 at the half.

The Bulldogs put the game away late in the match, scoring four goals.

"We had plenty of shots that we just never converted," coach Rusty Gorham said.

Gorham was happy with the play of goalkeeper Erin Hudson and defender Mariah Jones.

On Oct. 23, Lebanon played with more intensity but fell 4-1 at Woodburn.

It was a game that could have gone either way, if Lebanon had luck on its side.

One of the Warriors' goals was erased because of an offsides penalty and Woodburn converted on a goal that could have been called for offsides.

"Nothing seemed to fall our way," Gorham said.

Kim Duerr scored Lebanon's lone goal off an assist from Madisen Masog in the first half.

"We played good enough to win, but it just didn't go our way," Gorham said.

Hudson was again solid in goal for the Warriors, Gorham said. She had 15 saves against West Albany and another 15 against Woodburn.

Lebanon remains winless in October and is 0-5 in the conference.

The Warriors hosted Silverton on Tuesday and play their last game of the season Friday at Dallas.

"(Our goal is) to continue to play hard," Gorham said. "That's the only thing we can control is to play hard and play as a team."
