Weather caused the Lebanon High School men's basketball team to cancel two games last week, but they found a competition with neighboring Sweet Home.

The Huskies had been scheduled to play Elmira, but that game was cancelled too, so LHS and SHHS met Saturday for a non-league, cross-classification match- up.

Sweet Home came out on top, 67-56.

Sean Patel led the Warriors with 17 points; Kyler Shanks had 13.

The Warriors had a better shooting performance than in other recent games, making seven of 14 three-pointers. But the Huskies used turnovers and transition baskets to their advantage.

"Offensively, we figured some things out, but defensively we didn't," said LHS coach Kraig Hoene.

"If we just played defensively the way we're capable of we're in pretty good shape."

He noted the inside play of Brandon Herman in the effort.

Hoene gave credit to the class 4A Huskies for their performance.

"Sweet Home's solid," Hoene said. "Sweet Home would win games in our league. We just gotta play both ends of the floor better."

LHS won both the freshman and junior varsity games.

The Warriors are scheduled to travel to Bend for the Summit Tournament Dec. 29-31.
