The Lebanon women's cross country team took sixth and the men took eighth at the Mid-Willamette Conference district meet at Crystal Lake in Corvallis on Oct. 31.
Nearly every member of both teams ran personal-best times, coach Emily Latimer said.
Sophomore Marli Corbett led the Warriors women as usual, finishing in 22 minutes, 27.27 seconds.
Aimee Crumley was 28th in 23:33.50 and Anna Ma was 29th in 23:34.61.
Crescent Valley took the title with 22 points, followed by West Albany (65), Corvallis (67), South Albany (94), Dallas (135) and Lebanon (139).
The Lebanon men were led by Christian Upmeyer, who finished in a personal-best time of 18:22.27.
"Christian kind of set the pace and everyone followed," Latimer said. "Because of that the people behind him really stepped up and competed."
Cody Crumley finished in 19:05.72, good enough for 46th.
The men did much better than they did at the MWC Preview meet on Sept. 30, Latimer said.
"They all felt really good about their effort," she said.
Team awards were handed out on Tuesday.
Corbett received the Most Outstanding Runner award for the women while Lucas Market earned the men's award.
The Most Inspirational Awards went to Ed McGehee and Stephanie Hilpert.
Latimer said she was happy with the way the teams competed at districts.
"Everybody worked just as hard as they could and you could see it in their faces," she said.
The year was marred by injuries and illnesses, but it was a successful building year, Latimer said.
"I think it was a year of personal growth for each individual runner," she said. "I hope they take away what they've learned in terms of how to get better."
Team members presented Latimer with a shirt that reads, "Summer miles bring autumn smiles."
"I hope they stick to that this summer," Latimer said.
