Districts up next for LHS runners

The Lebanon women's cross country team beat Woodburn and finished one point out of second place at a Mid-Willamette Conference meet Oct. 21 at Teloh Calapooia Park.

West Albany was first with 18 points, followed by Dallas (59), Lebanon (60) and Woorburn (99).

Sophomore Marli Corbett led the way for the Warriors, taking fifth overall in 22 minutes, 39.52 seconds.

Aimee Crumley was 11th in 23:12.83 and Anna Ma was right behind her in 12th (23:16.74).

Also placing in the top 20 was Heather Matz (14th, 23:26.24), Kaylee Engler (25:59.33) and Monica Huang (25:59.99).

Lebanon's men's team (115) finished last behind West Albany (35), Woodburn (39) and Dallas (49).

Christian Upmeyer was the Warriors' top finisher, claiming 20th place in 19:35.8.

Enio Marin was 25th in 20:10.65 and Josh Carle was 30th in 20:50.8.

Next up is the district meet on Saturday at Crystal Lake Park.

The Lebanon women were fifth at last year's district meet and the men were last.

Sierra Engler, who graduated last year, was Lebanon's lone qualifier for state.

The top two teams qualify for state and the top four finishers that aren't a part of the top two teams also qualify.
