It was a happy start to the season on Dec. 7 as the Warrior wrestling team defeated Woodburn 37-26 in its first league meet of the season.

The Warriors dominated the lower weight classes, winning six of seven divisions under 145.

Rudy Salazar (125) beat his opponent 10-8 in an overtime decision. Robert Duran (112) and Adam Colwell (119) both won with pins.

The Bulldogs made up some ground in the upper weight classes, rebounding from a 34-6 deficit to pull within eight with one match left. Victory was out of reach for the Bulldogs, but Lebanon's Kyle Bellon made sure that the Warriors took the win by pulling out a 5-0 decision over his opponent in the 285

division.

But the Warriors couldn't extend their win streak to two, losing 57-24 in a non-league meet at Sweet Home on Dec. 8.

Isaac Salazar (130), Brent Trask (135), Forrest Lammert (215) and Bellon (275) had wins for Lebanon.

The Warriors host Crescent Valley at 7 p.m. on Dec. 14.
