Kyle Moore broke a scoreless tie with less than two minutes left to give the East Linn men's soccer team a 1-0 win over host Gervais on Oct. 27.

The win clinched a spot in the district playoffs for the Eagles.

"He was able to beat a guy and dribbled inside and scored," coach Tyler Grove said.

Grove said he was happy with the outcome and pleased with how the Eagles played defensively.

East Linn ended the regular season on Oct. 30 with a 5-0 win over visiting Jefferson.

Ross Latimer, Kyle Moore and Andrew Pitts scored three of the Eagles five goals.

East Linn played against Western Mennonite at West Salem on Tuesday. Results weren't available by press time.

If the Eagles won, they advance to the state tournament. If they lost, their season is over.

East Linn lost 6-0 against Western Mennonite earlier in the year.
