The Oregon State University Extension of Benton County will host a worm bin workshop from 4 to 6 p.m. on July 16 at 1849 NW Ninth St. in Corvallis.
Master Gardener Compost Specialists will teach interesting ways to compost by letting worms eat garbage.
Participants will learn the essentials of worm bin composting including how to maintain a worm bin effectively, manage feeding, harvest both worms and castings, minimize pests, and avoid errors.
Each attendee will receive one preassembled worm bin, starter worms, bedding mix, instruction and follow-up support.
The class fee is $40 per worm bin. Registration forms are available online at http://extension.oregonstate.edu/benton/ and at the Extension office.
