The South Santiam Watershed Council (SSWC) is planning community events in the upcoming weeks.

Tonight the SSWC hosts Beth Myers-Shenai, Oregon Department of Agriculture, who will speak about &#8220Beautiful Invaders: Ornamental Noxious Weeds of Oregon" at 7 p.m. at the Lebanon Senior Center, at 65B Academy St.

A riverside cleanup for Had Irvine Park in Lebanon is scheduled for 9 a. m. to 1 p.m. on May 19. This annual SOLV Down-By-The-Riverside event will feature invasive weed removal and native plant re-vegetation at Had Irvine Park, located on the north side of Wheeler Street east of the Santiam Canal.

Archeologist Tony Farque will host a hike to a camas field site and to the Native-American petroglyphs of Cascadia Caves on May 20. The free hike will leave the Ranger Station at 3225 Hwy. 20, Sweet Home, at 9 am. Please RSVP to Eric Hartstein, SSWC coordinator at 367-5564, as space on this tour is limited.
