To the editor:

We are stunned and overwhelmed. We are also humbled. Upon moving to Lebanon several years ago, we quickly learned that there are some very remarkable and amazing residents living and working in this community. However, a recent anonymous gesture bestowed upon our daughter has left us speechless.

Mr./Ms. Anonymous Donor - It is cliché to say that there are no words. Truly, there are no words to express our immense gratitude and appreciation. Please accept our most humble thanks. Through your gesture, you have changed our daughter's life and will enhance her college experience a great deal. You have provided a meaningful life lesson to all members of our family.

Each of us has been significantly impacted by your impressive thoughtfulness, compassion and kindness. Your exemplary behavior will remain with us forever.

As Christians, scripture tells us to "give thanks ... in all things." It is easy to give thanks when good things happen, and our family will continue to give thanks for all of our many blessings.

We will also, Mr./Ms. Anonymous Donor, continue to hold you close in our hearts and will never hesitate to "pay it forward" at every opportunity. Again, please accept our heartfelt thanks! May God bless you!

Grady, Heather, Emma, Isaac and Levi Newton, Lebanon
