To the editor:
Today I went to take my daughter shopping. I'm a single mom; my daughter is 2. We parked in the Corner Kitchen parking lot here in town and when I got back to my car the battery was dead.
I tried calling someone to give me a jump and couldn't reach anyone. We sat there for 15 minutes, then a lady pulled up next to my car. She seemed like a decent person so I asked her if I could get a jump from her. It would have taken five seconds to jump the car and my baby was crying in the back. The lady said, "I'm sorry I don't want to," so I said, "I have a baby in the car, please help me." The lady in turn said, "I'm sorry, it's not my problem." She then walked off and into the restaurant.
I have to say where are all the decent helpful people! I was shocked! What has this world come to where we don't lend a helping hand to those in need?
I'm a hardworking single mother. I work at Shari's here in town and have helped out countless of people, I'd never turn down a person in need of a helping hand! To the lady I'd like to say, "what kind of person are you? I would have helped you!"
