Gregory "Steve" Keeney, 65, of Lebanon, died at his home on Oct. 20, 2009.

No services are planned.

Mr. Keeney was born July 17, 1944, in Lebanon, the son of Shelly and Marie (Ellis) Keeney. As a child, he lived in Eugene. He graduated from North Eugene High School in 1962.

After high school, he served in the U.S. Navy. He returned to Eugene, where he lived until 1980.

Mr. Keeney owned and operated a Coast to Coast Hardware store in Albany from 1980 to 1984. He returned to Eugene where he lived until moving to Lebanon in 1997.

He is survived by his mother Marie Keeney of Springfield; sons Geoff and Grant Keeney, both of Eugene, and Gary Keeney of Portland; sister Janice Green of Minnesota; and two grandchildren.

The family requests that memorial contributions in Steve's name be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of Huston-Jost Funeral Home, 86 W. Grant St., Lebanon OR 97355.
