Orin Albin Halvorson, 85, of Lebanon, died Dec. 30, 2007, in Lebanon.

Private family services will be held.

He was born in Swift County, Minn., on Jan. 15, 1922, the son of Ole and Bertha Halvorson.

Mr. Halvorson graduated from Benson High School in 1940 and served as a radioman in the Navy for 38 months during World War II, seeing duty mostly in the South Pacific. He graduated from Detroit Lakes Business College in 1946 and worked as a bookkeeper for a Chevrolet dealer for two years.

He married Delores Muehlbauer in Danvers, Minn., on Feb. 15, 1947. The couple farmed in Minnesota for two years before they moved to Lebanon, where he worked in the Champion Plywood mill for 32 years.

He was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and the American Legion in Lebanon.

Mr. Halvorson is survived by his wife Delores; daughter Joan Bergman of Bend; sons William Halvorson of Lebanon and Gary Halvorson of Portland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

His parents, five brothers, and sisters died before he did.

Sherry M. Swanson

Sherry M. Swanson, 55 of Lebanon, died Dec. 30 at a care home near Gates.

A memorial will be held at a later date.

She was born in Torrance, Calif., the daughter of Marie Abercrombie. After graduating from high school, she moved to Corvallis to live with her grandmother.

She married Bart Roy Swanson of Lebanon.

She is survived by son Bart; granddaughter Rebecca; stepchildren Cathy, Elaine and Michael; and several brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, distant family and close friends.

Her husband Roy, daughter Sheila Marie Swanson, and stepson Steven Swanson died before she did.
