Otto A. Peter, 92, of Lebanon, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis.

Recitation of the Rosary was on Dec. 1 at St. Edward's Catholic Church, followed by a funeral mass. Burial was at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Lebanon.

He was born May 1, 1916, in Hartington, Neb., to Frank and Elizabeth (Asbra) Peter.

He grew up in Nebraska, where he worked on the family farm.

He married Mary Uhing in Hartington on June 8, 1937. They moved to Lebanon in 1938.

Mr. Peter worked at Bauman Lumber for 15 years until retiring.

Mary Peter died Oct. 2, 1980.

He married Agnes J. Brown on May 2, 1981 in Lebanon; she died Dec. 31, 2002.

Mr. Peter was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church and had belonged to the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Peter of Lebanon; sisters Francis Willard of Lebanon and Paula Collins of Coquille; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Bernie Uhing of Sweet Home.

Four brothers and three sisters died before he did.
