Dean H. Bengtson, 93, of Lebanon, died June 15, 2009, at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on June 27 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 3111 S. Main Rd. in Lebanon. He was buried privately in Rock Hill Cemetery near Lebanon.

He was born March 19, 1916, in Stanford Township, Minn., the son of Herman and Olivia (Lundeen) Bengtson.

On June 14, 1942, he married Eva Berglund from Kerrick, Minn. They owned and operated a small farm in Pine City, Minn.

In 1959, they moved to Salem. He moved to Lebanon in the early 1980s.

He was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Lebanon and a past member of Grace Lutheran Church in Salem.

He is survived by his sons Carl Bengtson of Lebanon and Bruce Bengtson of Madison, Wisc.; daughters Evelyn Smith of Lebanon, Kathryn Eckmann of Anchorage, Alaska, and Marilyn Anthony of Salem; seven grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

His wife Eva, parents and four brothers died before he did.
