Janet C. Glasser, 76, of Lebanon, died at her home on Oct. 25, 2009.

A memorial service was held Nov. 2 at The River Center in Lebanon. A private family inurnment was held at the Lebanon I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

She was born March 6, 1933, in Phillips, Texas, the daughter of Victor and Cecil (Stimpson) Hart. She grew up in nearby Borger, Texas, where she graduated from high school in 1951. After high school, she attended beauty college in Kansas.

She served in the U.S. Army for two years during the Korean War.

She married Leslie James Glasser in Fairbanks, Alaska, on Dec. 16, 1956. He died on Sept. 23, 2003.

In Fairbanks, they owned and operated a restaurant, Jan's Drive In, and had one of the first Kentucky Fried Chicken franchises.

After moving to Oregon the family lived in Gales Creek, where they owned a filbert orchard, and in Beaverton, where they owned a restaurant.

In 1971 they purchased Pineway Golf Course and Restaurant in Lebanon and have operated it since that time.

She was a member of the Lebanon Elks Lodge, American Legion and the Pineway Ladies Club.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Vickie and Gary Heintzman, Frankie and Gary Williams and Mickie, and Rich Brandvold, all of Lebanon; son and daughter-in-law Jim and Dani Glasser of Lebanon; brothers Victor Hart of Lebanon and Robert Carl Hart of Orlando, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
