Rafael Ortiz, 30, of Lebanon, died March 19 at Oregon Health Sciences University Hospital in Portland.
A funeral Mass was held March 24 at St Edward's Catholic Church. He was buried in the Lebanon I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
He was born March 19, 1978, in Tijuana, Mexico. He moved to Washington when he was 7 years old and later moved to Lebanon. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1996 and worked in the Lebanon area.
Mr. Ortiz was a professional boxer. He started boxing when he was 18-years-old.
He is survived by his wife Adelina; children Anali and Marcos; parents Benjamin and Evelia Ortiz; brothers Alejandro, Estevan and Jaime; and sister Blanca.
Contributions to help defray medical and funeral expenses may be made to the Rafael Ortiz Memorial Fund at Washington Mutual Bank.
