Charles "Chuck" E. Hoy, 61, of Lebanon, died Oct. 29, 2009, at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., on Nov. 7, at the Lebanon I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 25, 1948, in China Lake, Calif., the son of Richard and Anna (Johnson) Hoy.

He entered the Army in 1965 and served three years.

Mr. Hoy settled in Los Angeles and received an associate's degree in communications from Los Angeles Vocational Technical School.

He lived in the Ventura County area and worked for the County of Ventura.

Mr. Hoy married Vivian Swift on May 24, 1985, in Fillmore, Calif.

In 1989, they moved to Salem, where he worked for the Oregon State Patrol as a communications specialist. In 2006, he retired and they moved to Lebanon.

He is survived by his wife Vivian of Lebanon; daughters Michelle Swift of Fairfield, Calif., and Beverly Conzoner and Tracy Swift, both of Lebanon; son Steven Hoy of Sacramento, Calif.; brothers Victor Hoy of Moreno Valley, Calif., Clyde Hoy of Long Beach, Calif., and Chuck Tomlin and Bill Tomlin, both of Bullhead City, Ariz.; sister Lerae Pineda; and eight grandchildren.

Huston-Jost is in charge of arrangements.
