Tommie L. Walker, 62, of Lebanon, died March 8, 2008, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on March 15 at Huston-Jost Funeral Home.

He was born Sept. 28, 1945, in Hugo, Okla., to Kenneth and Lorine (Burton) Walker.

He graduated from high school in San Fernando, Calif. He then moved to Yuba City, Calif., where he met Ellen Dawson. They were married married in Reno, Nev., on Feb. 18, 1966.

Mr. Walker served in the Army during the Vietnam War and received two Purple Hearts. After his honorable discharge in 1967, the family moved to Alabama before moving to Lebanon in 1969.

He worked for Willamette Industries for 18 years and then for Oregon Orthotics in Albany for 14 years, retiring in 2003.

He is survived by his wife Ellen Walker of Lebanon; son Bobby Walker and his fiancé Kathy of La Grande; daughter and son-in-law Tammie and Michael McCombs of Harrisburg; granddaughter Destiny McCombs; brothers J.O. Walker of Lebanon and Gerald Walker of Live Oak, Calif.; and sister Patsy Routon of Lebanon.

His brothers Johnnie Walker and Kenneth "Corky" Walker and his parents died before he did.
