The Lebanon High School FFA team did well at the Oregon Future Farmers of America annual convention in La Grande March 20-23.

Lebanon's farm business management team, consisting of Karen Hoagland, Kristi Bunde, Lindsay Noble and Katie Miltenberger, took third place.

Hoagland also earned individual recognition, taking second place in the job interview event.

In order to advance to the state competition, Hoagland had to make it through three qualifying events.

She took first in the district and sectional competitions earlier in the year and finished well enough in the sub-state event to make it to state.

In addition to the team and individual success, five team members earned State FFA degrees, the highest honor available.

Those who earned State FFA degrees were Ryan Wall, Drew Snook, Jamie Tilley, Jordan Wilson and Bunde.

In order to receive State FFA degrees, a member must be in FFA for a minimum of three years and have earned and invested at least $1,500 in a project or worked at least 900 hours in a placement project, according to Mike Wilson, FFA advisor.

State FFA degree-recipients must participate in at least 30 FFA activities each year, Wilson said.
