Indoor park for kids

Every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon an indoor park at 600 W. "D" St., is open for children.

There are plenty of toys for children to bounce in, climb on, ride on and play with. The park also has an infant area with a padded floor in one area of building. A parent or guardian must remain with the children.

Free coffee, hot chocolate or tea is available.

The park is sponsored by the Lebanon Church of the Nazarene.

Auditions for 'A View from the Bridge'

LBCC Performing Arts is calling for actors to audition for its production of "A View from the Bridge" by Arthur Miller.

This classic American drama concerns Eddie Carbone, a simple, hard-working guy. In his crowded Brooklyn neighborhood, it's common to harbor relatives entering America illegally. When Eddie opens his door to his wife's Sicilian cousins, trouble slips through, too-under the radar. Eddie is confronted by feelings he fiercely denies, precipitating a shocking act of community betrayal.

There are roles for 12 to 15 men and women of varying ages. Actors at all levels of development are encouraged to audition.

Initial auditions will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, March 15 or Monday, March 16 (choose one day) in the Russell Tripp Performance Center at LBCC. Alternate audition arrangements, if necessary, may be made by contacting the theater director, Brian Newberg.

Auditions are open to the community, LBCC students and staff. Audition appointments can be arranged by contacting the LBCC theater box office at 541-917-4531.

Scripts are available on reserve in the LBCC library and at the LBCC box office in Takena Hall. For more information call 917-4566.

Middle school book club

The Lebanon Public Library will host a Middle School Book Club for sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-graders at the library during March.

Each month the groups will read a different book and participate in a discussion and activities that relate to the book. The groups will be led by a different adult each month and meet in the library from 7 to 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday evenings.

Williams, a teacher at Seven Oak, is conducting the sessions in March. She will discuss the book "Bat 6," written by Virginia E. Wolff.

The program is funded by the Friends of the Library group.

Registration is limited to 20 students on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each participant will receive a copy of the book at the first meeting of the month. The library will maintain a waiting list for those sessions that fill up.

There is no fee charged and students do not need a library card to join.

For more information, call the library at 258-4926.
