A local radio station, a 4-H leader and a 4-H member were honored on Nov. 3 by the Linn County 4-H Leader's Association at the group's annual 4-H Awards & Recognition night.

Each year one business is recognized for significant contributions to supporting local 4-H people and programs. The 2008 Friends of 4-H winner was KGAL/KSHO radio, locally-owned and operated by Charlie Eads.

Veralyn Harelson of Lebanon was named Outstanding 4-H leader for 2008. She has been a leader for 10 years, involved with art, photography, dog, small animals and, most recently, the horse project area. She has served as both the dog and poultry superintendent at the Linn County Fair.

Logan Justice of Scio was selected by Linn-Benton Women for Agriculture as outstanding 4-H member. He was presented with a $125 check. Justice is a member of the Cascade 4-H club with livestock and static projects, and the Carousel Crusaders 4-H horse club.
