The annual Strawberry Festival Flower Show will feature not only floral displays but also quilts and art.

Held at the Evangelical church Annex at Park and Ash streets, the show will be open from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Friday and from noon to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The overall theme is "100 Years of Strawberries."

The flower show has been a feature of the festival from the beginning. Quilts and art were added last year.

The flower show is sponsored by the Lebanon Garden Club.

Entries will be judged, with prizes in two categories: Horticulture and artistic design. Horticulture entries must be grown by the exhibitor.

Artistic design entries may not be treated and no artificial material will be permitted. Artistic design themes are from past festivals.

Both modern and heritage quilts will be displayed.

In addition, Santiam Scrappers Quilt Guild members will demonstrate hand quilting skills, proper use of quilting tools, and fabric/color selection techniques. Interactive quilting games will challenge all ages and skills.

A quilted car will be on display outside the flower show. It also will be in the grand parade.

Artists may submit 3D fine art - painting, drawing and photography - for the annual non-juried show. Art should be of a botanical nature, both flora and fauna, and should be framed and ready to hang. Artist contact information should be on the back of each piece submitted.

Though the quilt and art shows are not juried, attendees will have a chance to vote for the "People's Choice" quilt.

Flower growers, artists and quilters are invited to submit entries to the show.

Floral entries must be delivered from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 4 or from 7 to 9 a.m. on Friday, June 5. They must be picked up after the show at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6.

Flower show booklets with general rules and guidelines are available at the Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce Office and the Lebanon Express Office.

Art work and quilt entries must be delivered between 7 and 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 4 and picked up between 4:40 and 5:30 p.m. on Saturday June 6.
