LHS grad also wins chemical engineering award
Clarkson University senior Bradley M. Buchheit of Lebanon won second place in the student poster competition at the National American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, this past fall. His poster won in the general posters category.
Buchheit's poster described his honors thesis, which investigates the effect of dissolved water and alcohols on the viscosity of room temperature ionic liquids. The title of his project was "The effect of water and light alcohols on the viscosity of Tetrafluoroborate containing Ionic Liquids." Buchheit's poster was a separate part of the AIChE conference.
Buchheit, a chemical engineering major, is the son of Kevin and Lisa Buchheit of Lebanon. He first gained interest in chemical engineering after learning of the job opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry. Buchheit was also awarded the Pablo Guttman Memorial Award for being the most conscientious junior chemical engineering student. After he graduates from Clarkson, he plans on attending medical school and going into pediatric oncology.
