Habitat for Humanity is about to dedicate its seventh house built in Lebanon.
The celebration will be at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1 at the new home of Rosie and John Anderson, 853 Wassom St. The Andersons moved into their home in July. It was built with volunteer labor, as well as their own and that of their
children.
Joining in the dedication will be construction crews working on house number eight right next door. That home is expected to be completed some time in November, said Sally Skaggs of Habitat.
The past several houses built by the volunteer organization have been constructed from the ground up with the help of the construction class at Lebanon High School, YouthBuild from
the Community Services Consortium, local construction professionals and dozens of volunteers from the Lebanon area.
A representative from Habitat will speak on at the dedication, as well as a pastor from outside Lebanon who is a cousin of Rosie Anderson. The couple will be presented with a Bible bearing the signature of Habitat's founding president Millard Fuller.
The community is invited to the celebration.
