Randy Garcia, 29, of Lebanon, was arrested May 23, 2008, for pointing a firearm at people in the area of Second and "E" streets. He faces six charges in Linn County Circuit Court: Unlawful use of a weapon, pointing a firearm at another, three counts of menacing, and possession of methamphetamine.
His next court date is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 8. He has yet to enter a plea in the felony case and is no longer being held in Linn County Jail.
On the morning of May 23, Lebanon Police officers shut down the area near Second and "E" streets due to reports that Garcia had a weapon and a hostage inside his home at 1450 Second St. He was spotted earlier in the day in his front lawn, pointing a firearm at others in the area. The hostage reports were unfounded, but the incident disrupted traffic in the area for more than an hour.
