Wynn Mill Park on Fourth Street, formerly known as Jaycee Park, was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 9. Shown left to right are City Maintenance Division Manager Rod Sell; Mayor Ken Toombs; JoAnne Haley-Vlastelica; and Ron Baker.

The family of tha late Bud Haley family made a donation to the park in the Haley's name; he was the first husband of Haley-Vlastelica. Haley-Vlastelica also made a donation.

Baker is the president of Rhodes Warden Insurance, which also made donations.

The renovated park was renamed in honor of the Wynn family, who donated the property to the city in 1952. The Wynns also owned and operated a mill on the property until 1958 when the Jaycees turned the area into a park. A covered picnic area, public restrooms and a new play area are now open to the public.
