One of the minors was found dead hours later
A Lebanon woman has been charged in connection with the death of Lebanon teen Quentin Thacker. The investigation is continuing. Additional charges against her and others are possible, according to a statement from Sheriff Tim Mueller.
Adrian Renee Rodriguez, 38, was indicted by a Linn County Grand Jury on Oct. 29 on eight counts of furnishing alcohol to a minor and one count of frequenting a place where controlled substances are used.
The eight counts of furnishing are for Thacker and seven other minors.
Thacker died at the age of 14. His body was found by neighborhood children in a ditch near South Ninth and West "C" streets in Lebanon on Jan. 18, 2009.
The investigation by detectives from the Linn County Sheriff's Office revealed that Thacker died after using marijuana and consuming alcohol at a party hosted by Rodriguez at 1190 S. Ninth St., where she lived at the time. His body was located about 120 yards south of the residence.
According to the sheriff's office, an autopsy determined that Thacker died of "asphyxiation by drowning."
A toxicological examination showed that, at the time of his death, Thacker had a blood alcohol concentration of .21 percent and also a positive test for cannabinoids, indicating marijuana use.
Rodriguez is in custody at the Linn County Jail, where she has been since Oct. 13, when she was arrested on an 18-day hold for an unrelated parole violation. The no-bail hold ended on Oct. 30.
She was arraigned on the new charges on Oct. 30. Attorney Kirk Tibbetts was appointed to represent her.
Security is listed at $18,000 on the furnishing charges.
Rodriguez' next court date is a pre-trial conference at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 23.
