Michael Arthur Mullenix, 47, of Lebanon, was arrested Aug. 5 in connection with a Memorial Day weekend crash that killed his wife, Janet Long-Mullenix, 51.
A Linn County grand jury indicted him on charges of second-degree manslaughter and driving under the influence of intoxicants. He was arrested and lodged in Linn County Jail on Aug. 5. Mullenix posted $5,000 bail on Aug. 8 and was released.
On May 23, the couple's car crashed in the Waterloo area, about four miles east of Lebanon. Mullenix had been driving the 1994 Buick LeSabre when the car went off the road, through a fence, coming to a stop in a large fir tree. He was taken by helicopter to the Corvallis hospital. His wife died at the scene. The incident was the only vehicle-related fatality in Oregon during the 2008 Memorial Day weekend.
