The future of the Cheadle Lake Recreation Area will be the topic of a public workshop on December 7. The workshop sponsored by the City of Lebanon will be held at 6 p.m. at the Lebanon Senior Center, 65 “B" Academy Street.
The purpose of the workshop is to take public input on proposed improvements at what often is called Cheadle Lake Park, which so far has been developed by the Lebanon Community Foundation.
The property is owned by the Foundation, which has said it eventually will turn the site over to the city as regional park.
The land includes the permanent location for the annual Lebanon Strawberry Festival. Additional event facilities have been discussed, as have athletic fields and an amphitheater. Possible water-related development includes boating and lake enhancement and restoration.
The City and Foundation will be joined at the workshop by Cameron, McCarthy, Gilbert & Scheibe Landscape Architects, which is preparing a refinement plan for the area.
