Two Lebanon High School students recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

Gordon Turner, a senior, and Nathan Frye, a junior, were recently certified by Boy Scout Troop 350 in a Courts of Honor.

Turner, son of James and Jeanne Turner of Lebanon, was presented with his Eagle rank on May 30.

Turner's Eagle project involved building a safety fence on a high bank of the South Santiam River at Camp Koinonia near Foster Lake.

The fence provides security for the many young campers that attend summer camps there. It also protects the habitat from erosion and trampling.

The project was completed over three weekends and involved more than 15 people, taking more than 110 man-hours. Turner would like to thank Camp Koinonia and Matt Herb for donations of materials.

Frye, son of Michael and Laura Frye of Lebanon, earned his Eagle rank on April 18.

Frye's project consisted of designing and installing new landscaping for a commons area at Camp Attitude east of Sweet Home.

The project included ground-leveling, constructing walkways for the disabled, and planting trees, shrubs and lawn. The project involved more than a dozen people and took more than 100 man hours.

Frye said he was very appreciative of the many donors, including Vogt's Nursery, Fry's Nursery, U&D Nursery, and several individuals from the mid-valley.
