The Lebanon City Council has unanimously recommended approval of three liquor licenses applications, two for new owners of downtown bars, and forwarded them to the Oregon Liquor Control Commission, which will make the final decision.
On Sept. 10, the council passed on a new owner application for the Sherman Street Bar & Grill and Duffy's Irish Pub and a new license application for Sports Shack & Deli.
According to the application, Duffy's has changed hands from LLBA Corp. to BCK Corp. The Oregon Corporation Division lists Brad Newberg of Lebanon as the registered agent for BCK Corp.
Sports Shack & Deli is located at 1250 E. Grant St.. According to the Corporation Division, the registered agent is Heather Om of Lebanon.
The new owner of the Sherman Street Bar & Grill is Jeff Crites of Camcon, LLC, Lebanon. In a memo, Police Chief Mike Healy told the council he had talked with Crites and the new manager of the business about issues police have had with the bar's operation in the past. Healy and Crites discussed a "control plan" which includes these provisions:
€ Bar employees will immediately call police for disturbances that involve physical contact or the threat of physical contact, and for activities that involve unlawful behavior such as drugs, minors who attempt to enter the business or disorderly conduct.
€ Employees will keep a daily log listing dates, names and descriptions of all incidents and the list will include visibly intoxicated patrons. The list will be available for immediate inspection by police or OLCC representatives.
€ Patrons who engage in disorderly activities in or near the bar will be "86'd" - not allowed to enter - for at least 30 days and their name put on a list available to police and OLCC.
€ Patrons may not "stack" drinks, but must purchase one drink at a time.
The Sherman Street Bar & Grill has been operating on a temporary license since the council recommended denial of the license to the previous owner in May.
