The intersection of Main and Wheeler streets will operate as a four-way stop until the end of September as a contractor works to ease the curves on three corners. Permanent lane restrictions will be in place.

The signals were removed on Aug. 13.

Trucks are advised to use Highway 34 to Denny School Road to Oak Street to avoid the area. Minor delays are expected.

The contractor and utilities are still working at Main and Milton streets too, with Milton Street traffic narrowed for a block at Park Street.

Elsewhere in the area, construction of an additional left turn lane from Highway 34 to the Corvallis bypass continues with excavation, embankment, and signal pole operations adjacent to the roadway. Night work is scheduled to begin on Aug. 16, with reconstruction at the ends of the VanBuren and Harrison Bridges. Traffic will be funneled into a single lane. The VanBuren Bridge will be closed on Aug. 18 between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. and eastbound traffic will be routed to the Harrison Boulevard Bridge. Flaggers will be present during construction. Motorists should expect some delays.
