A chase that lasted almost two hours last week resulted in the arrest of 34-year-old transient Robert Dwayne Pollock.

According to police reports, at about 5:16 p.m. on Jan. 2, a Lebanon man called law enforcement after Pollock allegedly tried to strangle and assault him. Pollock then took his mother's vehicle, a white 1996 Ford Ranger, and fled the 200 block of Market Street.

Officers found Pollock driving on East Grant Street, near Center Market, and the chase weaved through North Brewster Road and Golden Valley Road, reaching speeds over 90 mph. The chase was called off due to weather but a canine with Linn County Sheriff's Office found Pollock on Golden Valley Road.

Pollock was taken into custody at 6:54 p.m. charged with third-degree robbery, strangulation, fourth-degree assault, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, attempting to elude, and reckless driving. He was taken to Linn County Jail.

LCSO deputies and five Lebanon Police Department officers were involved in the chase.
