A 56-year-old Sodaville man died Sept. 18 after his motorcycle left the roadway and was found in a ditch on Sodaville Cutoff Drive near Agate Road.
The Linn County Sheriff's Office received the emergency call at about 10:10 p.m. The driver of the 2005 Harley Davidson, Richard L. Fouts of Sodaville, was found dead at the scene. Fouts was eastbound on Sodaville Cutoff.
Deputies are still investigating the incident. It is not known yet if alcohol or speed were a factor. The preliminary investigation shows Fouts lost control of the motorcycle as he rounded the corner, causing him to collide with a steel metal fence post near the roadway. No other vehicles were involved.
Fouts was wearing a helmet. Medics and fire personnel from the Lebanon Fire Department also responded to the crash.
Huston-Jost Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
