A 27-year-old Lebanon man accidentally discharged a single rifle shot into his foot on Monday evening in the 1400 block of Franklin St.
"An investigation determined it was accidental, possibly in regards to cleaning a rifle," said Lebanon officer Patrick O'Malley. The firearm was a .22 caliber long rifle.
The man was transported by ambulance to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital at about 5:30 p.m., shortly after the incident. He has injuries to his top of his left foot.
Because the incident was deemed accidental, no charges are expected.
