Orientation for sixth-grades: Aug. 31 from 7:40 a.m. to 2:11 p.m.

School hours: 7:40 a.m. to 2:11 p.m. starting Sept. 1.

Parents will use the Crowfoot area for dropping off and picking up students. All students will enter the building through the cafeteria.

David Meek joins the staff as a math teacher.

Seven Oak has a number of teachers who have been transferred from other campuses.

Kim Masog joins the staff as a seventh-grade math teacher. Language arts teacher Jody Seward also joins the staff. Anna Parker will teach music.

Jacque Wells will be English Language Learner teacher.

Enrollment is up from the number expected, Sansom said.

Seven Oak continues with the Seeds of Change program. Sansom said he would like to take the program further by finding someone who could come in and teach students how to cook and prepare vegetables grown in the garden.

Sansom welcomes parents to stop by and check out the garden.

Although the school has lost art, one of its language arts teacher with experience as a thespian will teach a drama class.

"We're trying to work with the talents we have, and there are many," Sansom said.

The school continues its BULB - Bringing Up Learning and Behavior - program this year. The program highlights students who "escape attention because they do OK everyday," Sansom said.

A multimedia class will be taught by Eric Tuck.
