The City Council on Nov. 12 approved revisions to fees the city charges for services ranging from water and sewer to copies and business licenses.
At the same time, it approved changes to its public records request form. The new form is the only kind of public records request it will accept.
The city charges nothing for a simple request of a document that is readily available and may be e-mailed, but the request form still must be filled out.
Otherwise, fees for public records requests range from $.25 for a copy of a single page to $100 an hour for retrieval of archived electronic information.
City councilors must fill out request forms and pay fees if their request is unrelated to issues coming up on council agendas.
The council may waive fees.
