Posted: Tuesday, December 4, 2007 12:00 am

Build Lebanon Trails (BLT) and the city of Lebanon will hold a grand opening ceremony to commemorate the successful completion of Marks Slough trail at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8. The event will be at the Marks Slough trailhead on Tennessee Road in Lebanon.

The ceremony will include guest speakers, volunteer recognition and information about future events and how to get involved.

A BLT-led hike along the newly paved trail will take place after the ceremony. Trail mix and refreshments will be provided.

For those interested in seeing the second phase of this project, the hike will continue across the road to the area designated as a future trail.

To reach the trailhead, travel east on Wheeler Street in Lebanon past the wastewater treatment plant until it becomes Tennessee Road. Parking spaces will be available on the east side of Tennessee Road.

Dogs are not recommended on this hike.

Build Lebanon Trails is a group of volunteers committed to bringing more than 50 miles of paved trails to Lebanon.
