Since first reported in September, the city has revised the proposed city event code many times, city manager John Hitt said.
City staff has gotten about 10 calls from concerned citizens regarding the proposed code, he said.
The city has taken input from the Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce, Partners for Progress and the Lebanon Community Foundation.
One change in the most recent draft includes a clear exemption for small events, defined as events with less than 100 people in attendance or which last for three hours or less.
This will put events such as small church events and school car washes in the clear.
A meeting between the city and the three organizations listed above will be held next week, location and time not yet announced, to allow more input from the community.
Hitt said the ordinance will be a discussion item only at the Nov. 18 city council meeting, not an action item.
This will give councilors time to contribute personal comments as well as listen to any community members who may express concerns at the meeting.
The city council meets at 7 p.m. on Nov. 18 at the Santiam Travel Station.
