If you have been wanting to become more involved in the growth and development of Lebanon, the city has a volunteer opportunity awaiting you.
The Lebanon Planning Commission is seeking an interested person to fill a vacant position on the Lebanon Planning Commission. The position must be filled by a city resident. The term of this position runs until March 30, 2009 and will be eligible for another four-year appointment at that time.
The Planning Commission conducts quasi-judicial hearings on various types of development proposals for compliance with the Comprehensive Plan and applicable land use regulations. The Commission also advises the City Council on land use planning policy, and makes recommendations to the council on Annexations and other legislative matters.
Members of the Planning Commission receive no compensation and attend an average of one evening meeting per month.
