Linn County Sheriff's deputies arrested Ronald Allen McLaughlin, 27, of Scio, on Saturday in connection with a home intrusion near Crabtree.

He was charged with first-degree burglary and third-degree robbery. He had outstanding warrants for assault, carrying a concealed weapon, menacing, criminal trespass, a parole violation and a Marion County warrant for possession of methamphetamine.

McLaughlin is being held in the Linn County Jail with a total bail of $108,520.

At 5:04 a.m. Friday morning a woman at 36214 Crabtree Drive found a man in her kitchen going through her purse. He said he had wrecked his truck and needed help. As the man left the home, the woman's husband tackled but was not able to hold onto him.

Deputies searched for the suspect and found a cell phone belonging to the suspect. The man had crashed a vehicle on Kelly Road sometime prior to the incident.
