Recall election ended Tuesday

The Linn County Elections office has been busy with the Lebanon School Board recall and preparations for the general election on Nov. 4.

The School Board recall ended at 8 p.m. Tuesday after the Lebanon Express for this week was printed. Results are posted online and will be reported in next week's paper.

As of Monday afternoon, the elections office had received 4,922 recall ballots from a total of 16,237 eligible voters, said Linn County Clerk Steve Druckenmiller.

Register to vote

The last day to register to vote in the general election is Oct. 14. Name and address changes for voters already registered in Oregon will be accepted until 8 p.m. on Nov. 4. Druckenmiller said voters who wish to change their registration should make out a new registration card and take it in or mail it in to the Linn County Clerk's office.

The address is PO Box 100, Albany OR 97321. The office, located in Room 205 at the County Courthouse, 300 Fourth Ave. in Albany, is open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on election day. The phone number is 967-3831.

You may check to see if you are registered by going online to www.co.linn.or.us, clicking on "November 4 General Election Voter Information" on the home page and then clicking on "Are you registered to vote?," which is a link to the secretary of state's office. You will have to enter your name and address.
