Nearly 12 acres of wheat field was burned Sunday evening at 35013 Tennessee Rd. north of Lebanon.
Lebanon Fire Chief Dan Woodson said a bale wagon working in the field caught fire and ignited the field.
The fire was called in at 6:17 p.m. and was controlled an hour later.
Personnel with the Lebanon Fire District were assisted by firefighters with engines and tenders from Albany and Scio. The field is owned by Bob and Larry Meyers, Woodson said.
Because Lebanon's ambulances were busy, an Albany ambulance responded to a medical call in Lebanon and a Brownsville medic unit stood by at Lebanon's main fire station on Oak Street.
