A man wanted in connection with an accidental shooting on Jan. 16 was apprehended by Lebanon police three days later.
Greg Fisher, 23, was picked up on outstanding warrants and charged with third-degree assault, pointing a gun at others, unlawful possession of a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, and tampering with physical evidence.
The shooting occurred about 3 p.m. Jan. 16 inside a camp trailer parked behind 481 Main St. Sgt. Kevin Martinez said Fisher was there with four other people. He was handling a gun recklessly and accidentally shot Diane Marie Stephens, 19, in the foot.
Fisher, with the gun, and one other person fled the scene. Others took Stephens
to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital, where she was admitted for surgery. Emergency room personnel called police.
A spokesman for the hospital said he could neither confirm nor deny that Stephens was ever there, due to federal privacy regulations.
On Friday, police stopped a vehicle in which Fisher was a passenger. He fled and, after a search, was found in the 100 block of “C" Street.
He is being held in the Linn County Jail.
