Swiss steak at Legion for school supplies

American Legion Santiam Post No. 51 and its Auxiliary will serve a swiss steak dinner at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 22 at the Post, 480 Main St.

Dancing will follow with the Party Time band.

The menu will be swiss steak, vegetables, mashed potatoes, coffee, and dessert for $7.

Proceeds will be used to purchase school supplies for children in the Lebanon area.

Habitat for Humanity yard sale

The annual benefit yard sale for Habitat for Humanity will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 22 in the back parking lot of the Methodist Church, near Second and Airport.

Sale items are needed.

Helpers are needed to help set up, sell and clean up.

Tax donation letters may be given.

OSU Trumpet Choir gives summer concert

The Oregon State University Trumpet Choir will perform a summer concert at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 23 in room 202 of Benton Hall on the OSU campus.

The six-piece ensemble has spent the summer in rehearsals for a performance tour to China in September.

The group will perform in the cities of Xian and Changdu, where they will be joined by trumpet students from music conservatories in each city.

Admission to the concert will be $5 at the door with proceeds supporting the tour.

Willamette Country Music Festival in Brownsville

The second annual Willamette Country Music Festival will be held Aug. 27-30 in Brownsville.

Performers include Lonestar, Neal McCoy, Keith Anderson, Jason Michael Carroll, Rockie Lynne, Emerson Drive, and more.

Bridge Day, homecoming in Crawfordsville

The 20th annual Bridge Day and Homecoming will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 22 at the Crawfordsville Bridge.
