Juliet Znovena and Geoffrey Lowman, both of Washington, D.C., were married May 6, 2006, at the Costa Careyes resort in Jalisco, Mexico.

The bride wore an ivory lace gown designed by Monique Lhuillier.

Maid of honor was Kimberley Hurvitz of Santa Barbara, Calif. Bridesmaids were Deanna Cordero of Long Beach, Calif. and Selma Hafizovic of New York, N.Y.

Best man was Joseph Schollmeyer of London, England. Groomsmen were Robert Jones of Portland and Adam Palmer of Los Angeles, Calif.

Elijah Znovena, of Santa Barbara, a nephew of the bride was the ring bearer. Flower girl was Isabella Hurvitz, of Santa Barbara.

Juliet is the daughter of Robert and Sylvia Znovena of Santa Barbara. She graduated from the University of California in 1999. She is a graduate student studying chemistry at the University of Maryland in College Park.

Geoffrey is the son of Marvin and Mary Lowman of Lebanon. He graduated from the University of Oregon in 1998 and received a Ph.D. from the University of California in Santa Barbara in 2003. He works for the physics lab at the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

They live in Washington. D. C.
