Erin Rae VanAtta and Zachary Paul Mix, both of Independence, have announced their engagement.

Erin is the daughter of Erick VanAtta, of Lebanon and the late Rae VanAtta. She graduated from Lebanon High School in 2005 and is in her senior year in education at Western Oregon University. She works at Target in Salem.

Zachary is the son of Steve and Ginny Mix, of Palm Desert, Calif. He graduated from LHS in 2003 and is a manager at Walmart in Salem.

The wedding is set for August 29, 2009, at Yellow Gold Farms in Albany.
