In recent weeks, Lebanon has lost Popeyes and Quiznos, but Subway is not following suit.
Quiznos closed May 15 and Popeyes shut their doors on May 18.
Subway Owner Steven Smith said Subway is still going strong.
"I have no intention of closing any stores," Smith said.
Smith said he is not sure how rumors of Subway closing got started, but his employees should not be worried about any truth to them.
He said he understands the investment other business owners made, and hates to see anybody go out of business.
"I guess it's just a sign of the times," he said. "But Subway's still going strong."
In this economy, restaurant chains are not the only stores facing troubles. However, the talk of losing two local drug stores are unfounded.
Eric Harkreader, public relations specialist for Rite Aid, said he sees no reason for the Lebanon store to close.
"I can assure you it's business as usual," he said.
Walgreens manager Dan Foster said the store is not closing, in spite of rumors.
"We assure you, we're not closing," Foster said. "We're here for good. We're even going to be in the parade."
Foster said everyone at the store is looking forward to the parade.
He said he's unsure of where these rumors are starting, but wish they'd stop.
"We're healthy," he said. "We're even ready to grow and expand."
